As a form of personal apprenticeship, I concentrated on graphite drawings from approximately 1974 until 1986. I decided to let the process of the investigation determine the outcome. In doing so, I discovered my personal interests lied in the quality of light as a subject, the relationship between perception and recognition, and the subtleties of narrative.
